I was able to get the sound card working on a Dell Vostro 1400 with an Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)

At the terminal type in: sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
Then paste this into the file: options snd-hda-intel model=5stack
